IGOR-FS

A secure, distributed file system for sharing large, dynamic data files
IGOR-FS is a system for fast sharing of large, rapidly changing data files. Initially developed as part of SIMDAT, IGOR can be used with any data file and can often improve access speed by several thousand times. Conceptually, IGOR is simple: each computer has access to a shared file system as if all computers were connected to a single hard disk. Files are accessed using standard file operations. Data security is ensured by encrypted data transfer between trusted sources and authenticated users. IGOR also enables data backup, recovery, and versioning.

Availability
A preliminary version of IGOR is available for testing. It is planned to make IGOR available via an open source license and free for non-profit purposes.
