Problem Solving Environments

Problem Solving Environments are software tools that support the product design process, typically providing the following features:

Simulation project management
Workflow administration and execution
Process management and automatisation
Simulation data management
Application service integration (see analysis services)

A target of SIMDAT is, to develop federated versions of such problem solving environments using Grid technology and to demonstrate distributed product development. Interoperability between different Problem Solving Environments, like workflow tools, is key for the support of distributed developments. The enhancement of existing environments will ensure, that the advantages of Grid technology can be used in a very seamless way.
