Description
SOLAR is the corporate Navier Stokes rapid response capability deployed within BAE SYSTEMS for aerodynamic design. It has developed over the last 5 years to meet the needs of BAE SYSTEMS, AIRBUS UK and QinetiQ. It has been designed and tested to meet the requirements of projects in both military and civil sectors. SOLAR is a complete suite of CFD codes offering an impressive range of robust grid generation, flow solution and post processing capabilities over the highly complex configurations typical of the aerospace industry.

Contribution to SIMDAT
Within SIMDAT SOLAR has been deployed as an analysis service used within the aerospace activity to analyse the aerodynamic characteristics of a high life, low noise system. Each module of the suite is accessible as a service of the whole suite can be accessed as a deployed workflow.

Status
The technical solution is available. However, commercial deployment is still to be done and licensing conditions to be defined.
